My stay in Nottingham
Hello hello!
I hope everyone had a super Christmas!!
Well a short message to tell you all that I spent 5 days in Nottingham with one of my best friends Zahra. I went on the 9th of December and came back on the 13th. Of course the trip was way too short but it was great none the less.
Zahra and I caught up on each others life stories as usual. We went to see "Happy Feet", which was a great, cute, emotional movie. I have to admit I cried.
We also went ice-skating and suprisingly neither of us fell!! We went with two of Zahra's friends Walleed and Holly and as it turns out they were the only ones who fell. I even made it 6 x round the rink without even losing my balance. I of course quit while I was ahead and watched the rest hilariously make a fool of themselves (just kidding
). On a side note...While I was taking photographs of the other 3 iceskating, a woman came up to me and made me sign a form explaining why I wanted to take pictures. Apparently there are too many pedofiles who take pictures of children at skating-rinks. How horrible!! She made me promise to take only "close-up" pictures of my friends. I can't believe it's come to this, but I'm glad the skating-rink is trying to do something about the horrible problem.
The Lincoln Christmas Market (in Lincoln, go figure!) was super. It was super cold the day we went, but that only added to the wintery, Christmasy atmosphere. I didn't buy anything in the end, but it was great to stroll around.
I did buy a new coat in Nottingham city centre, so I didn't go home completely empty-handed. Although I wouldn't have done anyway, because Zahra showered me with gifts (thank you again Zahra!!).
I finally saw the other campus of Nottingham University where Zahra is studying Medicine. It's great, and very obviously designed by a good architect. I love the library.
I loved visiting, but next time I think I'll go a bit longer and add a trip to London to the schedule.
Thank you Zahra for a wonderful time!
I wish everyone a healthy, happy and succesful 2007!!
Love,
Amara
PS...for those who didn't know already, I've added new pictures to the America trip messages.
